none of us noticed that the color of the lumen changed and the bezel was all new as well - a good prank Felix :winken:
what movement is used in these - a Valjoux of some sort?

Na Gott sei dank... :gut:
Sorry Mates, I could not resist joking a bit :lachen:
This 1998 re-edition has the same dimensions and layout as the original 088/0111 from the early 1960's. The case has a very nice sand blasted finish and plexi glass, which come close to the old one.
It is equipped with an undecorated Valjoux 7760 handwind with hacking feature. The 7750 has been modified to manual wind and is officially called 7760, same as Hanhart 1939.
The re-edition is good, because it has all the features as the original one. It was easier to design compared to the Hanhart. The Hanhart needed the different pusher distance and the special case back. You will recognize straight away a Hanhart re-edition dial because of the smaller size of the subdials (45 min figure :zwinkern:).
The Junghans never had a flyback mechanism and so it is not missing. The case back of the Junghans has the same size as the original, but does not fit because of the thread.
The Junghans Flieger-Chronograph is more close to the originals as the Hanhart.
The 088/0111 will stay in my collection and the re-edition will stay on my wrist as well as the Hanhart 1939 :gut:
Nachtrag:
Felix - that is a great "modification". Who made the case back, are more available?
I share exactly your view on the J88 - it is still a bit under appreciated despite having the most beautiful movement of any military watch (IMHO) and having a great place in the post war military watch usage. I'm working on a post with screen shots from from various "bundeswehrfilm" and the J88 is featured quite many times.

Hi Lars,
I have bid on Ebay for this Junghans Sapphire. Two years ago I bought from the same Seller, who is watchmaker, a sapphire case back for my Speedmaster 321 (Balu53 did too) and I am also happy about it. I was really astonished how many differend case backs the watchmaker offers, Rolex Zenith Omega ...

I have to commit that I also have a display case back for my Hanhart Cal. 40/41. I'd like to see the movements workin without taking off the back.
Best regards
Felix
