That is a digustingly clean Seikosha Big Pilots watch...Here´s one that has been sold recently, with a bit more wabi, more like the ones usually to be seen! Big Pilot

not many most went to the bottom of the sea and not all pilots got one was a top watch to go to squadron leaders maybe

how many left 100 maybe 200 or less than 100 who knows how many do you see in any condition possibly one of the rarest if not the rarest military watch

This one is rare in being near mint condition after 71 years

we need to look at the movement numbers for reference r

Gongratulations,

this is a real hoy grail watch and very rare too. I only know about one picture Zigi Wesolowski shows in his book on page 115. He says, that the watch was introduced in 1941. I was worn around the sleeve of the flying suit like the wellknown B-Uhr.

The coming up question is: how big is the "japanese big pilot watch" - around 40 mm ? :denken:

EnjI thought you may enjoy the latest acquisition for my collection.

The watch in question has been in hiding in a safe for the last 60 years i suspect which explains the condition.. the dial is perfect and the case really clean ... it needs a service but runs fine ,,,probably has not been serviced for awhile

The watch was taken by a us serviceman on Okinawa in March !945 from a Japanese pilot that was captured in an aborted air raid... i have a copy of his service record and pictures of him and his engineer battalion... The dates match to the events in question

The movement number as you can see is number 5
